Zijin School of Geology and Mining
Co-founded by Fuzhou University and Zijin Mining Group, the Zijin School of Geology and Mining provides full-time undergraduate and graduate degree education, and aims to nurture high-caliber talent in geology and mining. It is a new school set up in May 2021 through the merger of the Zijin School of Mining (established in June 2007) with the Geology Faculty under the College of Environment and Resources.
The School now has 74 teachers and staff members, including 55 full-time instructors, 94.54% of whom have doctoral degrees and in which 17 has professor titles and 18 with associate professor titles. Among the teaching staff, one was awarded second class National Award for Technological Invention (first in line), one awarded second class for Science and Technology Progress (first in line), one nominee for the “Special Support Plan for Ten Thousand National High Level Talents”, two national candidates for the “National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Project”, one awarded “Young and Middle-Aged Experts with Special Contributions”, and five provincial high-level talents.
The School also has one chair professor (member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), one visiting lecturer (Outstanding Young Talent), one honorary professor (member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), and more than 80 teachers with engineering backgrounds.
